Job Description/Responsibilities

Bio: The Materials Planner develops, implements and maintains a best-in-class Supply Planning process resulting in creation, review and communication of accurate material supply plans and coincident supplier capacity plans. The process and resulting actions ensure the highest level of materials supply service is achieved and maintained both in the short and long term.

 

  • Develops and implements materials supply planning strategies and processes for all supply categories ensuring that the efficient and  timely supply of materials just satisfies ongoing production requirements.
  • Ensure that the Materials Supply plan accuracy is measured and reported, issues identified and effectively addressed in a timely manner.
  • Create, develop and maintain a cross functional Materials Supply Planning team with the goal implementing and documenting best practices across all production facilities. Ensure that the MRP system and Best Practices  are in use, is effective, appropriately configured, that data is accurate, and issues resolved as required.  
  • Take responsibility for developing and managing  an obsolete parts process  ensure that waste and liability is avoided.
  • Ensures that all material needs, either forecasted or short notice requirements are incorporated into the supply plans in advance of supplier lead times. Works with suppliers to fit in short notice demand to avoid OOS's
  • Ensures that all NBD material needs are incorporated into the supply plans in advance of supplier lead times. Engages in the NBD process to extract relevant information in support of this and to establish realistic project completion targets.
  • Regularly review supplier 12 month rolling inventory, demand and supply  plans identifying and closing gaps in production ensuring continuity of supply. In addition to this  identifying any future capacity shortfalls and escalating the need for capital investing with sufficient lead time to support decisioning and implementation. Work with the suppliers to develop and align methods of measurement, review and reporting.
  • Designs, develops and implements the materials supply planning process, KPIs and  Ensures that professional and consistent materials planning process are applied across the business.
  • Participate in the PDS process, learn and develop in skills and expertise in this process, and influence adoption by others.

Qualifications/Requirements

Requirements:

 

MUST

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or relevant experience
  • 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment
  • 2 years Supply Chain experience
  • 2 years’ experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time

 

PREFERRED

  • Successful implementation of an integrated planning/forecasting system
  • 2 years with use of CPFR (collaborative planning, forecast, and replenishment) internet systems
  • 2 years’ experience in purchasing materials for food/beverage/or packaged goods manufacturing
