Job Description/Responsibilities

The Global Transportation Manager is responsible for leading the company’s international transportation operations outside of North America. This role oversees the physical flow of goods across markets, with a strong focus on synchronizing transportation operations to improve service, reduce costs, and optimize supply chain efficiency.

 

The position plays a critical role in improving global logistics performance by ensuring on-time pickups and deliveries, minimizing freight costs, and driving operational excellence in transportation. The role works closely with facilities and external partners outside of North America, with primary focus on Europe.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage international transportation operations outside of North America, ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods.
  • Execute transportation strategies aligned with Global Logistics team that improve service levels and reduce transit time variability. Monitor carrier performance and manage relationships with freight forwarders, logistics providers, and transportation partners. Ensure on-time pickups and deliveries while proactively resolving transportation disruptions and escalations.
  • Analyze transportation metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost, service, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with procurement, planning, customer service, and operations teams to align transportation activities with business needs. Identify opportunities to improve synchronization between logistics and co-manufacturing operations for enhanced service and cost savings.
  • Support customs compliance and international shipping requirements in collaboration with trade compliance teams.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, operations management, or related experience.
  • Relevant experience in international transportation or logistics, with strong exposure to global freight operations (air, ocean, road) and end-to-end supply chain coordination.
  • Proven background in FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, or with global carriers/3PLs, managing cross-border transportation and optimizing cost, service, and delivery performance.
  • Expertise in ERP systems, transportation management systems (TMS)
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, data analysis & KPI management
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Strong planning and organizational skills

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of european transportation and distribution networks
  • Certification in customs compliance or related areas (e.g., certified customs specialist, global trade professional
